While it is getting more desirable for flight attendants to have at least some post-secondary training, it’s not unheard of for people to start learning how to become a flight attendant right on the job because they were hired straight after high school. Generally speaking, this comes about if the high school graduate has had excellent grades, some experience in customer service (either from summer jobs or school) and gets lucky with the job hunt. It can be really desirable for a high school graduate to get a job like this because the pay is better and the experience is something many high school graduates don’t get to have which can help them later in life. However, be aware of the fact that you will be traveling around a lot and that you may need your passport and possibly a credit card and some sort of method of communication with your family and friends back home such as a cell phone or computer.
